A Flight of Eagles
I'm back from my sojurn to California; nice trip, a bit rainy but we went for family and not the weather. The only real downside to my trip was not being there for the Troop 100 Eagle Court of Honor on Saturday. You can read all about it in the Daily Herald articles from Saturday, December, 27 and Sunday, December 28. Ten Eagle Scouts is a phenomenal achievement and is a measure of the level of accomplishment of the boys in the troop. These kids came in as part of a group of 22 Scouts; 19 of them made first class in a year (pretty amazing statistic there, too) and with ten of them making Eagle, that's 45%! The national average for boys making Eagle is 2%. And I really shouldn't call them boys--they're young men; one of them is a freshman in college already. Anyway, congratulations to all of them, and our prayers continue for Keith Davis and his family.
