Why there is someone for everyone.

Yesterday I was at a Winterguard competition. As one guard performed their show, I noticed one young lady in particular. She was—to put it quite bluntly—large. Yet at the same time, she was very, very graceful, and as she performed her face was lit with such a look of transcendent joy that it was impossible not to share that joy. As I watched her delightful smile, the realization struck me as to why, despite all the focus in our society on physical beauty and “thinness”, there is a true love for everyone. Someday this young woman is going to turn that same look of transcendent joy on some young man, and the extra pounds she might carry will suddenly just not matter any longer, because her true self will be revealed by that amazing smile. On those occasions it is possible to look past the outer shell and see the inner light, for after all, we are all created in God's image. So we can use that inner light to see the fierce shine of the inner light in another—but every once in a while, people get to do something that lets EVERYONE see that inner light. Through this glimpse I realized that somewhere in this world, there is a true love for everyone.
