Brian's Buzz is now Windows Secrets

WindowsSecrets.gifThe Brian's Buzz newsletter, which I have written about previously, has been relaunched and rechristened as Windows Secrets Newsletter. Editor Brian Livingston will be joined by Paul Thurrott, who runs Paul Thurrott's Supersite for Windows. On top of that, the newsletter is merging with Woody's Windows Watch, which will discontinue publication. Sounds like more content from an expanded staff, which (I hope) should only make a good thing even better.

Bash the Haggis

If you've ever had haggis, you'll appreciate this little game called Bash the Haggis. Possibly the best use anyone has ever come up with for the darn things. In case ya' dinna' know what haggis is, you basically take a sheep (in traditional Highlan' manner, ya' take someone else's sheep!). Kill it. Sell all of the edible parts and the hide to the damnfool Sassanachs (Englishmen). Take what's left (traditionally heart, liver & lungs), boil it, chop it up, mix it with oatmeal and whatever inedible parts of cattle you can talk the Englishmen out of (usually suet), add salt and a lot of pepper of all sorts (cayenne, Jamaica, black, etc.) and sew the whole mess up inside the sheep's stomach. Boil the whole mess for a really long time. Drink some scotch. Take the haggis out of the water and slice it. Pour a liberal dash of scotch over each slice. Drink some more scotch. Eat the haggis. Drink some more scotch. Go to bed, you'll possibly feel better in the morning. Get up. Play Bash the Haggis. (See if you can beat my 793 foot personal record)
